So, it’s time for day 5 of the Anime Challenge. Today’s challenge is to choose an anime character I’m most like, or want to be most like. This is probably going to be the easiest one for to do, because my answer has been the same since I saw the first episode of the anime the character I’m talking about is in. Without further ado….

Sakata Gintoki

Gintoki is a young man who stands by his word. He’s brash, poor, stubborn, and unabashedly lazy. He is almost always behind on his rent, and he blows the money he makes on games, manga and alcohol. But he’s also loyal, kind, and has values that he won’t abandon no matter what, and one of those is that all one really needs in life is a family that loves you.

As I said before, he’s extemley lazy, but when it comes to his job (helping people with whatever odd job they come to him with), he is all in, and does his best to help them to the best of his ability. He often imparts wisdom when those around him needs it, and due to his charisma, gains a large circle of friends that stand by him. He’s a skilled samurai who doesn’t know how to quit, a friend who never gives up on anyone, and a person who can be relied to come through for you when you need him most, despite his childish personality.

For these reasons, and so many more, the character I’d most like to be like is Sakata Gintoki of Gintama.
